Event Description

February 6,7, Mogadishu, Somalia, The World Bank Implementation Support Mission between the World Bank Energy Team led by the Task Team Leader and The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Project Implementation Unit led by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources and the Director General took place in Mogadishu, Somalia. The objective of the mission was to provide implementation support to the MoEWRs-PIU regarding the implementation of the Somali electricity sector recovery Project and let the PIU provide project implementation updates.

The Somali Electricity Sector Recovery Project Interim Project Coordinator provided Detailed update on the project’s status, challenges, and activities planned.
World Bank Team’s Perspective: The World Bank team affirmed their dedication to the project, praising the synergy between the Ministry and the Bank, essential for achieving the project’s ambitious objectives.
A Minister of Energy and Water Resources recently expressed gratitude towards the World Bank’s energy team for their crucial role in supporting the project implementation unit.
The Project implementation unit provided various presentations about the sector recovery project.
